For nearly 20 years (January 1972-April 1991), Mr Harold Coates travelled from his home in Thurmaston to the school where he taught, 'The Mount' in Melton Mowbray. The watercolours by Mr Coates show buildings, views and other items of interest on that journey, as well as some of the vehicles used to travel.
